Before you start

Each tool's Customize dialog has its own style field. Set up your notebook once, then follow the section for the output you need.

1

Open or create a notebook

Go to NotebookLM and open the notebook that holds your topic, or click + Create notebook.

2

Add your sources

Click + Add sources and upload PDFs, docs, links or pasted text. The output only covers what's in the sources, so leave out anything off-topic.

3

Select the sources to use

In the Sources panel, tick only the sources this output should draw from.

4

Open the Customize dialog

In the Studio panel on the right, click the pencil / customize icon on the tile you want (Video Overview, Infographic or Slide Deck). Clicking the tile itself generates with default styling, so use the pencil.

1

Open Customize Video Overview

From the Studio panel, click the pencil on Video Overview.

2

Choose the visual style

3

Paste the style prompt

Paste this into Describe a custom visual style:

Full prompt
Clean, modern flat vector motion graphics in a bright tech-SaaS style. Cool off-white background (#F4F5FA) with deep navy (#0B1F36) for text and shapes. Signature accent is a blue-to-cyan gradient (#258AFD → #29BEDD), used on key words, big stat numbers and highlights, with soft blurred cyan glows bleeding off the edges of the frame. Green (#1FB877) only for positive metrics. Bold geometric sans-serif headlines (Plus Jakarta Sans style, extra-bold, tight letter spacing), with large numbers as the heroes of each scene. UI-style compositions: white rounded cards (20px corners) with hairline borders and soft navy-tinted shadows, pill-shaped labels and buttons, chat bubbles, dashboard and stat cards. Simple thin-line outline icons in light-blue rounded tiles. Occasional dark navy spotlight scenes with white text for key takeaways. No photos, textures, grain, clutter or cartoon characters. Calm, smooth fades and gentle slide-ups, no bouncing. Feels confident, warm, premium and data-driven.

Set the focus

Under What should the video focus on?, pick a suggested topic chip or write your own. Adding this line keeps the brand's numbers-first habit:

Focus add-on
Lead each point with the key number or stat, then explain the impact in one short line.
5

Generate and review

Click Generate. A video can take several minutes, and you can leave the page while it renders. When it's ready, check it against the final checklist.

Output 02

1

Open Customize Infographic

Final checklist

  1. The background is off-white or navy, never colorful.
  2. The blue-to-cyan gradient appears only on key words and numbers.
  3. Each scene, card or slide has one idea and the numbers lead.
  4. Corners are rounded, shadows are soft, and there's plenty of whitespace.
  5. There are no photos, cartoons, textures or clutter.
  6. The facts match your sources. NotebookLM can make mistakes, so double-check them.
